Meditation Monday: Today, Help Bear the Burden of Another.

Bear one another’s burdens, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ.

–St. Paul’s letter to the Galatians, chapter 6: 2

Contemplation:

What would our world look like if we concerned ourselves with the needs and plights of another, just for one day? In mainstream Christian thought, Jesus came and bore the sins, that is, the spiritual burdens, of the world. Of course, not everyone agrees with the concept of vicarious atonement, but we can reflect this attitude as a general practice of compassion. If we looked upon one another as partners in life, then we are more inclined and benefited in assisting each other in the burdens of our very existence.

Meditation:

Today, I will lend my heart, body, and mind toward the good of another.
